What to Expect When Building a Swimming Pool & Spa

Once you have your financing approved and your pool design you are ready to go. Many steps go into building a pool. We have each step shown below with pictures.

Mark Your Utilities Prior to Digging

Before you start, you need to have your utilities marked. Always contact the Water, Gas, Electricity, & Telephone companies prior to any digging to make sure that there are no utility pipes or cables in the area where you wish to build the pool.  You may find there are utilities there and you will have to make the decision to either move the pool position or to move the utilities. Go to Digtess and make one call for all your utilities. www.digtess.org

Stake Out

The whole area in which the pool is to be built should be marked out so that you have a good idea of the total area you will be using. This is done with florescent paint. This can be easily seen for a distance when you stand back to get a distance perspective or stand inside & look out the window to see how the end result will look.

Permits & Approvals

Now you have to wait. The professional team at Impossible Dream Pools completely handles this step for you. They will take your plans and submit to the electric company. The electric company must sign off on your plans making sure that there are not any hidden problems. This process can take from 3-7 days depending on the backlog at the electric company.

Once signed off by the electric company, it is taken to the city for their approval and permits. Again, our team will handle this for you. This process length depends on the city and their backlog. This could happen in a couple of days or a couple of weeks.
